I would like to thank the governor and his staff, the House of Representatives and the Maine Senate for making the state No. 1 in taxes in the union. Wages are poor here and the school system isn’t the best. We already pay half our yearly wages to some sort of tax; state, county and city government.
When our legislators need tax money or any other thing they always seem to bring your grandchildren into the picture, saying how it will benefit them. Well, if taxes keep going up like in the last few years, your grandchildren in 20 to 25 years will pay 60 to 65 percent of their wages in taxes. They won’t make it. They will become wards of the state.
