Brewer dinner, auction to benefit disabled boy

BREWER – Meet Logan Severance, an 8-year-old with spinal muscular atrophy, at a benefit dinner Oct. 6 at the Bangor Banquet & Conference Center on Hogan Road.

Funds raised at the dinner and auction, which ends with a dance, will go toward the purchase of a handicapped-accessible van to transport Logan, who uses a wheelchair and currently is carried by his parents from their vehicle to his chair.

More information about the Severance family and their efforts can be found by visiting www.logansfreedomride.com. The event begins with a social hour 4-5 p.m., followed by a buffet dinner 5-6 p.m. and a live auction starting at 6 p.m. and running until 7:30 p.m., which is when the dance begins.

Music from the ’50s through ’90s will be featured by local DJ Mike Dow. Tickets are $10 each or $25 per family. For information on how to donate auction items or to purchase tickets, call Kim Severance at 989-6357 or 944-3929.
