LEWISTON – Sun Media Group on Monday completed its acquisition of the Kirkland Newspapers.

Sun Media Group, the owner of the Sun Journal daily newspaper and several nondaily papers, takes ownership of the Franklin Journal, the Rangeley Highlander, the Penobscot Times and the Livermore Falls Advertiser.

Financial details of the transaction were not made public.
