Sargent drills goals 3, leads Ponies past Tigers

DOVER-FOXCROFT – Shee-Ann Sargent knocked in three goals as Foxcroft Academy held on for a 4-3 upset of the Dexter Tigers.

Lauren Kousale added a goal for the 2-8 Ponies. Ashley Richardson had 10 saves on 16 shots.

Alexis Mitchell, Miranda Gove and Sarah Dominique scored for 5-4-2 Dexter. Sarah Whittemore blocked eight of 13 shots.

Penobscot Valley 2, Penquis 1

At Howland, Lyndsay Drost scored two goals to lead Penobscot Valley past Penquis of Milo.

Jordan Falloon and Abby Hallett grabbed assists for the 4-6 Howlers. Julie Theriault had 13 saves on 18 shots.

Reba Howell scored for 1-11 Penquis. Kristyn Chapman stopped 27 of 38 shots.

Piscataquis 2, Schenck 0

At Guilford, Christine Davis had a first-half goal and Cassie Tardiff added a second-half goal to lead Piscataquis to victory over Schenck of East Millinocket.

Victoria Tracy assisted Tardiff’s goal for the 7-2-1 Pirates. Jill Martell blocked all seven shots for her seventh shutout.

Leann Toothaker made 18 saves on 20 shots for the 1-10 Wolverines.

Hermon 3, Central 0

At Hermon, Lindsey Allen scored two goals to lead Hermon past Central of Corinth.

Brittney Kelley added a goal for the 3-6-1 Hawks. Cheyanne Woodard and Chelsea Pottle provided assists. Megan Herbert stopped all 12 shots.

Jana Philbrick turned away 20 of 26 shots for the 2-7-2 Red Devils.

JV: Hermon 4-0

John Bapst 4, Ellsworth 1

At Ellsworth, Morgan Chasse scored three goals to lift unbeaten John Bapst of Bangor to victory.

Whitney Sinclair added a goal and Catherine Lammert and Kristen Willard assists for the 7-0-3 Crusaders. Sam Maquillian had three saves on eight shots.

Jen Richter had an unassisted goal for 4-4-2 Ellsworth. Rachel Arkin blocked five of 12 shots.

JV: Ellsworth 1-0

Greenville 1, Rangeley 0

At Greenville Saturday, McKenna Peat scored 3:07 into the game and Lauren Fling made nine saves as Greenville triumphed.

Krista Jamison made 13 saves for Rangeley.

Lincoln Acad. 2, Mount View 0

At Thorndike, Chloe Maxmin’s goal 11:49 into the game sparked the Eagles of Newcastle to the win over the Mustangs.

Mariotti Meyers added an insurance goal with 12:20 remaining in the first half. Alex Donald stopped all 19 shots she faced for 3-6-2 Lincoln Academy.

Annie Bryant made 13 saves on 16 shots for 2-7-2 Mount View.

Field hockey

Mattanawcook 1, Orono 0

At Orono, Bree Hanscom scored with 4:07 left to lift Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln to the victory.

Deni Nicastro assisted on the decisive goal for the 10-1 Lynx. Sarah French had five saves on 12 shots.

Amber Saucier stopped four of nine shots for 4-8 Orono.

JV: Mattanawcook 2-0

Central 3, Piscataquis 1

At Corinth, Hilary Haney knocked in two goals while Rachel Trafton added another to spark Central to the win.

Karen Pineo, Sam Morin and Roberta Trafton dished out assists for the 7-4 Red Devils. Alix Rudzinski had one save on three shots.

Alicia Quimby scored an unassisted goal for 0-11 Piscataquis of Guilford. Brianna Tweedie made eight saves on 15 shots.

JV: Piscataquis 3-1

Hermon 3, Old Town 2

At Hermon, Lily Barry scored two goals including the winner with 15:23 remaining the second half to break a 2-2 tie and lead Hermon over Old Town.

Jaimie Beers scored a second-half goal for Hermon and Ally Wharton provided two assists. Carrie Cole blocked 10 of 23 shots.

Sarah Wilcox and Lindsay St. Louis scored first-half goals for Old Town. Danyle Boobar made 12 saves on 18 shots.

Boys soccer

Dexter 10, Penquis 2

At Milo Saturday, Devon Grant had a hat trick with three goals to lift the Tigers over the Patriots.

Rick Stewart scored twice for the 8-0-2 Tigers. Nate Peirce, Nate Wyman, Mike Quimby, Chris Chambers and Corbin Bilodeau scored. Chris Eastman blocked five of seven shots.

Brian Zwicker and Taylor Delano both scored for 3-6-1 Penquis. Jerell Arefein provided an assist. Richie Russell and Shane Woodard combined for 21 saves on 33 shots.

Penobscot Valley 2, PCHS 2

At Howland Saturday, Brandon London’s second goal of the game, coming with three minutes left in regulation, gave Piscataquis Community High School of Guilford the tie.

Josh Herrick set up the tying goal.

Leigh Dolley and Joey Brown had the goals for Penobscot Valley with Dylan Thompson picking up an assist.

Aaron Awalt had 21 saves for PVHS, and Corbin Shufelt had 17 for PCHS.

Woodland 6, Calais 2

At Woodland, Chad James scored three goals and assisted on another to lead Woodland to victory over Calais.

Cody Sappier had two goals and an assist for the 7-2-2 Dragons. Scott Boomer added a goal and two assists, and Ben Sears provided two assists. Dan Proulx turned away 13 of 15 shots.
