Recently there was an ad in the paper extolling the virtues of flying from Bangor International Airport. I am trying to figure out which is incorrect, the title of the ad which was “The Reasons to fly from Bangor keep adding up” or the tag line of “There’s a better way. BGR.”
If truth in advertising laws exist, the headline should read “The Reasons to flee from Bangor keep adding up” or the tag line would be “There’s a better way, BGR.”
My wife and I flew to San Diego recently. Round trip from BGR was $1,098. Round trip from Portland $549. Based on the ad that run, gas cost us $30, tolls $1.20, parking 0, food about $25 and a hotel in Portland was $79.
That comes to $175.20 plus the tickets at $549 equals $724.20. That leaves $373.80 in my pocket.
