The University of Maine-Fort Kent men’s soccer team posted two shutout victories over the weekend, blanking Fisher College 12-0 Saturday at Lawrence, Mass., then beating Curry 3-0 Sunday at Milton, Mass.

On Saturday, Andrew Gervais had two goals and an assist while Walford Stewart had a goal and assisted on three others to power the Bengals’ offense.

Andre Anderson and Arnold Lewis tallied a goal and assist apiece for UMFK, which improves to 14-0. Damion Stone, Barrington Blake, Isaac Ward, Aleph Zavala, Dustin Nadeau, Justin Dunlea and Anike Samuels added a goal apiece. Derrick Plourde and Ian Leppke each made one save.

In Sunday’s game, Anderson scored two first-half goals while Blake added another in the second half as UMFK triumphed over Curry.

Stewart had two assists while Plourde had two saves.

William Rhudy made four saves for 5-8-3 Curry.

Thomas 2, Lyndon State 1

At Waterville, Tim Costa and Tyler Simpson each netted a second-half goal Sunday to lead Thomas by Lyndon State (Vt.).

Russell Beckwith made seven saves on 14 shots for the 6-6-3 Terriers.

Armin Nukic scored for Lyndon State while Jeff Giroux made six saves on 13 shots for the 5-9 Hornets.

Elms 1, Thomas 0

At Chicopee, Mass., T.J. Nevue scored unassisted while Nick Pellegrini had three saves to lift Elms College (4-8-1) past Thomas of Waterville Saturday.

Russell Beckwith finished with nine saves for Thomas, which drops to 5-6-3.

USM 3, Eastern Connecticut 2

At Gorham Saturday, Ben Slagle scored the game-winning goal in the 50th minute and assisted on another to lead the Huskies to victory.

Eddie Weddington and Peter McHugh added a goal each for 8-5-1 Southern Maine. David Kreps had two saves on 11 shots.

Nicholas Boretti and James Picarella scored for 6-5-2 Eastern Connecticut.

Eastern Connecticut 3, Husson 2

At Bangor, Dustin Huguenin tallied two goals Sunday to propel Eastern Connecticut State by Husson.

Jay Barney and Justin VonEdwine combined to make seven saves on 24 shots for the 5-6-3 Warriors.

Mark Trombley and Justin Gauvin each scored a goal for the Eagles. Miguel Dominguez made four saves on 10 shots for 7-9-1 Husson.

Wheaton 5, Husson 1

At Bangor, David Ferriero scored two goals Saturday to lead Wheaton College (9-4-3) past Husson College.

Dan Chong, Nick Mann and Jason Lewis added goals for the winners.

Nattapong Kongsuriya scored the goal for the 7-8-1 Eagles. Miguel Dominguez had six saves on 18 shots.

UMBC 3, Maine 0

At Baltimore, Kevin Gnatiko and Andrew Gillis netted first-half goals Saturday as Maryland Baltimore Country shut out the University of Maine.

Steve King made four saves to earn the shutout for the 6-4-2 Retrievers.

Nemanja Kostic made three saves for 2-9-1 Maine.

UMF 2, Maine Maritime 0

At Farmington Sunday, Jeff Tatarczuk scored both goals as the Beavers blanked Maine Maritime of Castine.

Brian Lemont stopped two of six shots in earning the shutout for 5-4-3 UM-Farmington.

Randy Bartlett blocked seven of 12 shots for the 3-9-2 Mariners.

UMF 2, UM-Fort Kent 1 (OT)

At Farmington, Jackie Mrazik scored 1:17 into overtime Sunday to lift the Beavers past the Bengals.

Liv Irons scored early in the second half for 11-3 UMaine-Farmington. Kerry Kowalczyk had one save on five shots.

Sarah Nadeau scored on a rebound for 7-4-2 UMaine-Fort Kent. Liz LaPlante stopped 12 of 26 shots.

UM-Fort Kent 3, Fisher 0

At Lawrence, Mass., Brianna McGary scored two goals and assisted on another by Liz Clavette as UMaine-Fort Kent triumphed Saturday.

Liz LaPlante didn’t face any shots for the 8-3-2 Bengals. Suzy Smith had four saves for 0-9 Fisher College of Boston.

Thomas 2, Lyndon State 1

At Waterville, Karen Demers scored two goals in the first half Sunday to lift Thomas past Lyndon State (Vt.).

Lindsay Thornton made 12 saves on 19 shots for the 8-5-2 Terriers.

Angel Phelps posted a goal while Kari Johnson stopped four of 18 shots for the 5-7 Hornets.

Elms 2, Thomas 1 (2OT)

At Chicopee, Mass., Maggie Rivers’ goal in the second overtime Saturday lifted Elms College past Thomas of Waterville.

Krystyna Gagne added a goal for 5-8-1 Elms.

Brittany Morin scored for the 7-5-2 Terriers. Lindsay Thornton recorded 14 saves.

Saint Joseph’s 6. St. Joseph 0

At Standish Saturday, Mikayla Call notched a goal and two assists to lead Saint Joseph’s College past St. Joseph College (Conn.).

Lauren Hagerman had a goal and assist for the 13-1-1 Monks. Brianna Jordan, Heather Stranger, Anna Willis and Jessica Needham added a goal apiece. Katye Mayo recorded four saves in posting her sixth shutout of the year.

Eastern Connecticut 2, USM 0

At Willimantic, Conn., Sarah Swann and Nicole Gaudette tallied a goal each Saturday as Eastern Connecticut improved to 8-4-1 with the shutout of the Gorham-based Huskies.

Kim Church had one save on four shots for the winners while Mindy Morneault recorded 12 saves on 23 shots for 6-7 Southern Maine.

Maine 1, Hartford 1 (2OT)

At Hartford, Conn., Meagan Reimer netted a goal for Hartford in the second half to tie the game as the Hawks battled Maine to a 1-1 tie through two overtimes on Sunday.

Maine scored in the first half on an own goal by Hartford. Jasmine Phillips made four saves for the 4-5-3 Black Bears, now 2-1-1 in America East play.

Maine outshot the Hawks 13-12.

Elizabeth Cook came up with seven saves for Hartford (4-5-4, 2-0-2 AE).

Husson 2, Lasell 1

At Bangor, Erin Nason netted a goal off a corner kick with 26 minutes remaining in the game to lift Husson past Lasell College on Sunday.

Alyssa Bragdon scored for Husson in the first half off a pass from Krystal Doughty. Kelly Bocchino stopped five of six shots for the 9-3 Eagles.

Caitlyn Walker netted the goal for Lasell while Laura Gallagher made 11 saves on 18 shots for the 4-9 Lasers.

Husson 2, Maine Maritime 0

At Bangor Saturday, Katie Nickerson and Michelle Manning scored for Husson in the win.

Amy Banz and Kylan Smith added assists for the 9-6-1 Eagles. Tatyana Wolterbeek had five saves on six shots.

Lacey Jackson stopped 12 of 27 shots for 8-6 Maine Maritime Academy of Castine.

Field hockey

Davidson 4, Maine 3

At Hanover, N.H., Eleanor Cowley scored the game-winning goal just over eight minutes into overtime to lift Davidson College past Maine.

Brooke Anderson, Jackie D’Amato and Amy Zdrojesky each scored a goal for Maine. Maygan Cassarino made five saves on 11 shots for the 4-10 Black Bears.

Castleton State 3, Thomas 2

At Waterville Saturday, Kayla Blank’s unassisted overtime goal lifted Castleton State (Vt.) past Thomas College.

Amy Miles scored a pair of second-half goals for Thomas to force the overtime.

Siobhon Whittemore had six saves on eight shots for 10-3 Castleton while Drielle Mitchell stopped 17 of 25 for Thomas, now 3-5.

USM 2, UMass Dartmouth 1

At Gorham, Heather Gilman connected on the game-winning penalty stroke in overtime Saturday as Southern Maine prevailed.

India Lowe notched a first-half goal for the 11-4 Huskies while Samm Johnson had an assist. Allie Hill made three saves on nine shots.

Erin Langan scored for 4-10 UMass Dartmouth, while Liz Fitzgerald stopped 21 of 36 shots.

UM-Farmington 1, Castleton 0

At Farmington Sunday, Andrea Tyler scored off a pass from Alyssa St. Pierre with 3:55 left in regulation to lift the Beavers to victory.

Kaeleigh Barker stopped all three shots she faced for the 8-4 Beavers.

Trisha Clark stopped eight of 11 for 10-4 Castleton State.

Thomas 3, Wheelock 0

At Waterville Sunday, Sarah Estes, Alyssa Audie and Amy Miles tallied a goal apiece as Thomas College blanked Wheelock.

Drielle Mitchell had nine saves on 11 shots for 5-5 Thomas.

Lauren Taveras stopped seven of 14 for 3-10 Wheelock.

Women’s ice hockey

Maine 2, Providence 2 (OT)

At Orono, Taryn Peacock and Vanessa Vani each tallied a goal for Maine in the second period to earn a tie with Providence College through two overtimes on Sunday.

Madelene Eriksson and Peacock each grabbed an assist. Genevieve Turgeon made 40 saves on 42 shots for the 1-2-1 Black Bears.

Rachel Crissy and Sarah Feldman each scored for 0-1 Providence while Danielle Ciarletta made 29 saves on 31 shots.
