ORONO – Nick Smith rushed for two touchdowns while Kyle Gallant passed for three more as John Bapst of Bangor defeated Orono 49-19 in high school football action Friday night.

Smith finished with 90 yards rushing, scoring on runs of 65 yards in the first quarter and a 3-yard spurt in the fourth for the Crusaders. Fred Lear finished the scoring for Bapst when he scored on a 5-yard TD run.

Gallant passed for 145 yards while Derek Smith returned a punt 60 yards for a touchdown.

Seth Dwyer paced the Red Riots with two interceptions while hauling in a 45-yard touchdown pass from Brandon Levasseur in the second quarter. Ben Perry scored on a 2-yard run and Dustin Godreau on a 10-yarder.
