FORT KENT – Meranda Hafford of Washburn, this year’s Miss Maine, will appear at the Miss America pageant Sept. 22, in Atlantic City, N.J.

UMFK’s Student Senate and Hafford’s classmates will hold a party as the nationally televised pageant is broadcast on ABC television.

The party will be held from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday in the campus’ student lounge, the Bengal’s Lair.

The party is open to the public.
