Fox’s ‘Nothing But the Truth’ digs pretty deep

You have to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth if you want to walk away with the cash on the newest reality show coming to Fox.

The ads for the network’s impending show, a spin-off of what has become hot in Colombia, puts contestants in the hot seat in front of family, friends and viewers. To win the $50,000 prize (a rather small award for reality TV today), contestants must answer 21 questions truthfully. Trust me, “Nothing But the Truth” doesn’t ask any of the typical truth-or-dare questions we used to ask as children. They dig deep.

Each player takes a polygraph test backstage. Once in front of the audience, they’re put to the test. One ad shows an overweight woman asking a man if fat people repulse him. Another shows what one would assume to be the contestant’s father asking if his son can forgive him for being absent during his childhood.

Unfortunately, I didn’t catch the air date for this one and Fox doesn’t have it on their Web site, so keep your eyes open.

Lifetime didn’t want to be left out of the reality mix and has come up with yet another “Queer Eye” spin-off. Carson Kressley is teaching women “How to Look Good Naked” just in time for all those New Year’s resolutions.

His new show is set to premiere at 9 p.m. Jan. 4 as part of the Friday night lineup.

A combination of “What Not to Wear,” “Extreme Makeover” and “Ten Years Younger,” Kressley teaches women how to accept their bodies while working to accentuate the positive on the outside and the inside without turning to cosmetic surgery.

Yes, he’s a man, but we all know he’s in touch with his sensitive side and has a way of making people look and feel great.

While hair and makeup changes can make a huge difference, I’m most impressed (and shocked) at what the right bra and underwear can do.

The best part is that there’s a chance for women at home to participate. The premiere coincides with Lifetime’s photo contest, “Feel Good and Flaunt it,” sponsored by Keri’s new Renewal lotion line.

Women can go online and enter their photo for a chance to win a trip for two to New York City where they will be pampered and made over. They’ll also get to have lunch with Kressley. I wonder what that skinny man eats?

Ladies, put on your best smile and let us know if you win.
