FARMINGTON – Greg Whitaker scored 18 points and the University of Southern Maine Huskies outscored the UMaine-Farmington Beavers 37-17 in the second half after trailing by 10 to record a 58-48 men’s basketball victory Friday night.
UMF cut USM’s lead to 49-46 with 3:12 left, but the Huskies hit 7-of-8 free throws to secure the win.
Ian Hebert chipped in with 15 points and 10 rebounds for USM.
Isaac Hutchinson and Sean Fry each scored 12 points to lead UMF.
