National Football League Commissioner Paul Tagliabue, the former chair of the United Way of America board, will speak Oct. 5 at the Leaders’ Circle Recognition Reception of the United Way of Eastern Maine.

Tagliabue will speak at 6 p.m. at Penobscot Valley Country Club in Orono. The event, which runs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., is hosted by Charles M. Hutchins, 2001 campaign chair.
