Museum gaining support

In this season of lights, the Greater Bangor business community is stepping up to keep the lights burning brightly for the 70,000 children and adults who visit the Maine Discovery Museum every year.

“The response to our Business Membership campaign has been truly heartening,” said Andrea Stark, the museum’s executive director. “This community is very generous when it comes to supporting its local institutions. Through membership support, our business friends and neighbors are letting us know that the children’s museum brings people to town, benefits their employees and customers and contributes to the regional economy.”

MDM welcomed the following new business members: A.G. Edwards; Bangor Hydro; Beatham, Bernier, Seekins & Colpritt, CPAs; Berry, Dunn, McNeil & Parker; Freightliner of Maine; HRH Insurance; Juniper Ridge Landfill; Leture’s CrackSealing and Paving; R&K Variety; Sargent, Tyler & West; and WBRC Architects-Engineers.

These businesses join current members Affiliated Healthcare Systems, Bangor Daily News, Bangor Savings Bank, Bangor Federal Credit Union, Farrington Financial Group, Hardwood Products, Puritan Medical, Hollywood Slots at Bangor, Husson Pediatrics; KeyBank, M&G Hipsky Rentals, Nickerson & O’Day, SeaDog Brewing Co., Therapy Solutions and Vafiades, Brountas & Kominsky.

Business memberships to MDM start at $100. Every business that signs up or renews a Superhero member by Dec. 31 will be entered in a drawing for two roundtrip vouchers between Bangor and Orlando, courtesy of Allegiant Air. For benefits and giving levels, visit www.mainediscoverymuseum.org.
