HOWLAND – The Orono girls basketball team raced out to a 17-point halftime lead, then held on for a 52-44 victory over Penobscot Valley on Thursday night.
Jade Keezer led Orono with 13 points while Sarah Parent and Sarah Pavento each tallied 11 points for the Red Riots.
Casey McCloskey led Penobscot Valley with a game-high 28 points.
