Annual Freeze Up planned

A group of anglers who can’t wait until spring to get out on the water will gather next month for what has become a popular annual event.

This year’s Freeze Up – the invention of Kevin McKay and www.maineflyfish.com – will take place on Jan. 6.

A year ago 22 fly fishermen flocked to the event on a day that was anything but freezing. In fact, the temperature approached 70 degrees on their designated “Freeze Up” day, also in January.

This year’s event is again scheduled for the Mousam River in Kennebunk, and all fly fishers are invited.

For more information, go to McKay’s Web site at www.maineflyfish.com.
