ORONO – A local woman was arrested early Saturday morning at the Ultra Lounge on Park Street after she allegedly struck a bouncer who tried to break up her fight with another female patron.
According to Orono police Officer Derek Dinsmore, he and Officer Seth Burnes responded shortly after 1:30 a.m. to a call from an Old Town police officer who had driven past the popular nightspot and witnessed two individuals fighting in the parking lot. The Orono officers found a bar bouncer restraining Terraela Rucker, 21, on the ground in the parking lot.
According to Dinsmore, Rucker and another woman had been arguing inside and had carried the fight into the parking lot. When the club bouncer intervened, Rucker reportedly struck him in the face.
The officers attempted to calm the two women down, Dinsmore said, but when Rucker continued screaming obscenities and refused to leave the premises, she was arrested, charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespass, and taken to Penobscot County Jail in Bangor. Arraignment is scheduled for Feb. 28.
