Pelletier, Cyr lead Madawaska to win

MADAWASKA – Kallie Pelletier connected for a game-high 25 points as the host Owls built a lead as big as nine in the first half then held on to upset Greater Houlton Christian 47-46 in a schoolgirl basketball game Wednesday night.

Madawaska led 28-22 at the half before the Eagles went on a 24-19 second half run to get back into it.

Ashley Cyr chipped in with eight points for the winners.

Sarah Riopel led GHCA with 17 points while Kari Brewer added 14.

Lucas Belanger led the Hornets with 18 points and Tarr added 15 points. Justin Belanger scored 12 points and Tyler Cote chipped in 10 points.

Ben Doucette led the Crusaders with 27 points. Alex Martin scored 16 points and Derrick Rossignol had 13 points.
