Knights edge Calais Lubec, Machias, GSA post wins

HARRINGTON – Andrea Perry made a steal that thwarted a potential game-winning possession by Calais and helped the Narraguagus Knights secure a 51-50 schoolgirl basketball victory over the Blue Devils Monday night.

Calais trailed by one point and had the ball in the closing seconds, but Perry’s steal helped the hosts hold on despite two missed foul shots and a subsequent turnover with 1.6 seconds left that resulted in a failed desperation shot by the Blue Devils.

Courtney Foss paced Narraguagus with 17 points, and Perry finished with 14.

Courtney Hill sank six 3-pointers on her way to a game-best 26 points for Calais. Tessa Clark added 12 points.
