Bowdoin defeats Babson

WELLESLEY, Mass. – Andrew Hippert scored 19 points and Kyle Jackson had 15 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals as Bowdoin College of Brunswick upended Babson College 71-57 in men’s basketball action Wednesday night.

Bowdoin shot 65.9 percent from the floor, including 58.3 percent from three-point range, and 90.9 percent from the free throw line.

Andrew Sergeantson, Jordan Fliegel and Mark Phillips had eight points apiece for Bowdoin.

Greg Bush’s 19 points and Kyle McDonald’s 12 led Babson.

At Fort Kent, Jimmy Lopez registered a game-high 29 points including eight 3-pointers to propel the University of Maine-Fort Kent by the University of Maine-Machias.

Othniel Hyliger scored 13 points and Gediminas Sumyla had 11 while Yair Gal chipped in with 10 for the Bengals.

Charles Calligan led UM-Machias with 16 points. Anthony McCoy netted 13 points while Noah Buehner added 12 for the Clippers.

At Standish, Meghan Daigle scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Monks past Pine Manor College.

Carolyn Freeman buried four 3-pointers for 12 points for Saint Joseph’s.

Laura Cecil tossed in 20 points to spark Pine Manor.

Katy Constant led the Clippers with 16 points. Sara Wells added 12 points and 10 boards while Jennie Hare and Angela Moody notched 10 each.
