C.A. Dean Hospital joins Together Project

GREENVILLE – Charles A. Dean Hospital is the latest Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems member to join the Together Project, a shared electronic medical records system that allows for immediate access and collaboration of care among EMHS member hospitals.

Currently Inland Hospital in Waterville, Sebasticook Valley Hospital, The Acadia Hospital and The Aroostook Medical Center use this technology, and Blue Hill Memorial Hospital plans to join later this year.

The Together Project will enable C. A. Dean to work more efficiently and provide enhanced quality care and improved safety to our patients, according to Geno Murray, C.A. Dean’s president and chief executive officer.

“The implementation will put electronic records at the fingertips of C.A. Dean caregivers as well as other clinical employees at member hospitals in a manner that protects patient confidential medical information,” Murray said.

If a C.A. Dean patient goes to another member hospital for care, that patient’s medical record is instantly accessible to the treating caregivers without a delay in care, according to Murray. Not only will C.A. Dean work more efficiently and cost effectively, the ultimate outcome will be greater patient safety, he said. The standardization of clinical systems enables patient information to be available when and where it’s needed to support clinical decisions no matter where the patient seeks care in the EMHS system.
