How you can help

BANGOR – The American Red Cross immediately responded to the earthquake in India on Friday, releasing $25,000 to the Indian Red Cross to help jump-start relief operations. Representatives of the International Federation of the Red Cross and the Indian Red Cross headed to the affected area to assess the damage and humanitarian needs.

Those in Maine who want to help the humanitarian effort can send donations to the American Red Cross Pine Tree Chapter, 33 Mildred Ave., Bangor 04401. For information, call 207-941-2903.
