CAMDEN – A benefit concert featuring members of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra and other musicians will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, at the Camden Opera House. All proceeds will go to the New York Disaster Relief Fund.
Musicians from around the state are donating their time and sharing their music to assist victims of the World Trade Center disaster. Performers will include pianist Glenn Jenks; poet laureate Baron Wormser; mezzo-soprano Margaret Yauger; bassist Malcolm Smith; bagpiper Doug Anderson; pianist Dr. Philip Silver; jazz pianist Sergio Salvatore; a new piece by composer Frederick Bianchi; the Chamber Singers of Camden Hills Regional High School; pianist John Haskell; sopranos Amie Lavway and Jennifer Smith and tenor John Adams; the Da Ponte String Quartet; trumpeter Joshua Whitehouse; pianist Baycka Voronietsky; and French horn player Scott Burditt.
Admission is $30 at the door. Proceeds will go to the New York Disaster Relief Fund and the funds will be channeled to the American Red Cross. Additional contributions would be greatly appreciated.
