Clark leads Nokomis by Caribou

NEWPORT – Danielle Clark scored off a direct kick from about 25 yards out with six minutes left to give the Nokomis Warriors a 1-0 schoolgirl soccer victory over the Caribou Vikings Thursday.

Sara Lowe made five saves on six shots for the 4-3 winners and Leah Drew made 20 saves on 32 shots for 1-9 Caribou.

JV: 1-1

Buckfield 2, Valley 1

At Bingham, Jamie Henry scored off an assist from Lindsay Marston with 3:25 left in the second overtime for Buckfield

Melissa Samson scored a first-half goal for 6-2 Buckfield and Megan Melcher scored unassisted in the second half for 1-7-1 Valley.

Buckfield outshot Valley 33-8.

Lee 3, Penquis 0

At Lee, Shelby Pickering scored two unassisted goals to lead undefeated Lee to its ninth victory.

Sam Cole added an unassisted goal for the Pandas and Katie Harris made seven saves on 10 shots. Ashley Pelletier made 18 saves on 31 shots for 6-3-1 Penquis of Milo.

George Stevens 3, Sumner 2

At Blue Hill, three players scored goals for the Eagles.

Anastasia Osage had a goal and an assist and Bethany Roberts and Kerri Driscoll scored a goal apiece. Sarah Clapp recorded two assists for 7-2-1 George Stevens Academy. Liz Tyler had two saves on eight shots.

Liz Brunton scored two goals and Meghan Ruhlin had an assist while Hilary Page stopped 21 of 45 shots for 3-5-1 Sumner of East Sullivan.

Bucksport 2, MDI 0

At Bucksport, the unbeaten Golden Bucks limited Mount Desert Island to three shots, all of which Jana Richards saved for her sixth shutout of the season.

Stacey Lozier and Elissa Gordon each scored a goal for the 9-0-1 Bucks. Jessie Taylor and Brittany Damon each had an assist.

Sarah Johnson made 22 saves on 37 shots for the 0-8-1 Trojans.

Orono 1, Ellsworth 1 (2OT)

At Ellsworth, Molly Dupere’s low screened shot from beyond the penalty area with 20:19 remaining earned the tie for Orono..

Joelle Clingerman and Marie Lint combined for six saves on 14 shots for the 4-3-2 Riots.

Sarah Silsby finished off a run down the flank with a 10-yarder inside the far post early in the second half for 5-2-3 Ellsworth and Victoria Jones made four saves on 14 shots.

JV: Ellsworth 3-1

Searsport 7, Bangor Christian 3

At Searsport, Jessica Larrabee had three goals and one assist to power the Vikings.

Janelle Hamilton and Jessica Plourde added a goal and an assist each for Searsport. Shanna Murphy and Nicole Shute scored a goal each, and Mo Hall made nine saves on 14 shots.

Monica Belleux put in two goals for the Patriots. Heather Niles chipped in with a goal. Kendil Snow made 15 saves on 27 shots before leaving the game after she was kicked in the head.

John Bapst 2, Hermon 1

At Hermon, Ashley Cluff scored off a direct kick to help the Crusaders improve to 6-1-1.

Rebecca Stevens added a goal for John Bapst of Bangor. Alex Waring turned back six of seven shots.

Jessie Wiggin provided the score for the 1-6-1 Hawks. Shannon Wiggin made 13 saves on 15 shots.

Penobscot Valley 2, Schenck 1

At Howland, Meagan Cyr and Alicia Drost scored on a penalty kick in each half to lift Penobscot Valley to victory.

Drost’s second-half goal with 23:04 left gave the Howlers the winning edge as Sarah Gordon came back to score for Schenck off a Jodi King assist with 12:13 left.

Kylie McGinn made seven saves on 15 shots for 3-6-1 PVHS and Beth Chase made 13 saves on 24 shots for 4-3 Schenck of East Millinocket.

Mount View 2, Oak Hill 0

At Thorndike, Violet Soisson scored twice off Sarah Ingraham passes and Danielle Mayer made six saves on eight shots as Mount View improved to 4-5-1.

Soisson scored midway through the first half and added the clincher with seven minutes left. Hope Nadeau made nine saves on 14 shots for 1-6-1 Oak Hill of Sabattus.

JV: Mount View 1-0

Belfast 3, Lincoln Academy 1

At Newcastle, Rosie Hughes, Emily Biscone and Lindsey Bryant each scored for the Lions.

Lucretia Miller and Abi Maycock each added an assist and goalie Emily Worth made six saves on seven shots for the 7-2 winners.

Emily Railsback scored off a Jessica MacPhee assist for 4-6 Lincoln Academy. Catherine Slye made six saves on 10 shots.

Boys soccer

BC Pats 7, Highview Chr. 0

At Bangor, Matt Conley knocked home four goals as Bangor Christian beat Highview Christian of Charleston.

Kliton Xhemali provided two goals for the winners. Nate Dorman chipped in with a goal and Chase Ossinger added two assists. D.J. McCleary and Aaron Wilson combined to stop seven shots.

Gordon Lovell made 14 saves on 45 shots for Highview Christian.

Belfast 4, Lincoln Acad. 3 (2OT)

At Belfast, Steve Matlock scored his team’s final three goals, including the game-winner with three minutes left in the second overtime, to propel the Lions.

Caleb Barnaby chipped in with a goal for 2-6-1 Belfast. Chris Abbott rejected 19 of 25 shots.

Ben Thorne, Greg Bernard and Chris Carter provided goals for the 6-4 Eagles of Newcastle. Ryan Ball turned aside 12 of 18 shots.

Belfast 5, Lincoln Acad. 0

At Newcastle, Ann Berry scored a goal and assisted on three others to help lead the Lions to victory.

Kallie Mehuren scored twice, Sarah Skinner notched a goal and an assist and Celia Grotz scored once for 10-0 Belfast. Angela Marden added an assist.

Tash Scott and Amanda Littlefield combined to make 10 saves on 10 shots. Megan Gray made 12 stops while facing 17 shots for 0-10 Lincoln Academy.

JV: Belfast 5-0

Stearns 4, Bangor 2

At Millinocket, the Minutemen received goals from four different players and Becca Saucier made two saves as they improved to 5-2-2.

Leslie Osborne and her sister, Jessica, had the first two goals to stake Stearns to a lead it would never relinquish. Katie Nason and Casey Popp also scored and Candice Achorn had an assist.

Ashley Emerson and Kate Baldacci scored for Bangor and Allison Frazier and Frankee Waldron teamed up for 12 saves.

JV: Bangor 2-1

Hampden 5, John Bapst 0

At Hampden, Katherine Lumino knocked in two goals as the Broncos blanked the Crusaders.

Whitney Briden added a goal and assist for Hampden, who improved to 5-4. Christie Mosley and Sarah Peters added a goal each. Mari-Ann Alley chipped in an assist and Jennifer Hessert turned back 16 of 19 shots.

Julia Sleeper rejected 10 of 21 shots for the 1-8 Bapst of Bangor.

JV: Hampden 3-0
