Tax junk food

I am tired of hearing about a healthier Maine and only addressing smokers. I smoked heavily for over 30 years and finally was successful in quitting (for two years now). It was not the unfair taxing that made me quit – I had tried several times before – it was simply trying to be healthier.

Meanwhile, I have gained over 20 pounds, and my back and joints are not holding up very well. I have been concentrating on eating healthier and moderate exercise. But guess what? I can’t afford to eat as healthful as I should all the time. Why? Because healthful food (fresh fruits and veggies) are too expensive.

How about taxing junk food and bringing down those choices so everybody can afford to get fit? That would be a healthy Maine.
