CARMEL – James McGowan, a resident of Carmel, received the Eagle Scout badge during ceremonies on March 29 at Camp Roosevelt in Eddington.
McGowan is a member of Boy Scout Troop 24 in Levant and is the son of Suzanne and Ed Moreshead of Carmel and Daniel McGowan of Illinois.
He is a class officer in the senior class at Hermon High School, an honor student and a member of the wrestling team.
McGowan attended American Legion’s Dirigo Boys State and was an intern for U.S. Rep. Michael Michaud.
The new Eagle Scout plans to attend college and law school and is looking at going into politics.
He once said, “I always wanted to be an Eagle Scout and to give back to my community as much as possible.”
His Eagle Scout project was a gazebo for the town of Levant.
McGowan received his Eagle Scout badge from Bill Adams of Levant.
