St. Joseph’s rallies past USM

GORHAM – Saint Joseph’s College of Standish scored four runs in the final two innings to earn a come-from-behind, 7-6 college baseball victory over the University of Southern Maine Thursday.

St. Joe’s trailed 6-1 after two innings.

Ben Grant-Roy homered and singled twice for the Monks. Dustin Spiller had a double and two singles and Ian Lee singled three times. Luke Enman knocked in two runs.

Josh Mackey hit a home run and drove in three runs to lead the Huskies. Collin Henry had three singles and two RBIs and Mike Eaton singled and doubled with two runs scored.

At Lewiston, freshman Noah Lynd hit two doubles and a single and drove in four runs to lift Bates College over the University of Maine at Farmington.

Bates 6, Colby 1

At Lewiston, junior Stacia Saniuk hit a two-run home run in the first inning to jumpstart Bates’ victory over Colby College of Waterville.

Annie Wilson tripled in the fifth for Colby and scored on a double by Alex Essman.

Suffolk, St. Joseph’s split

At Boston, Christy Wezowicz scattered five hits in five innings to help Saint Joseph’s beat Suffolk 23-2 in the second game of a doubleheader. Suffolk won the first game 13-2.

Cat DeSimone paced Saint Joseph’s in the two games with a double, five singles and two RBIs.
