EAST MACHIAS – Dan Seamans singled home Bryce Colbeth in the bottom of the seventh inning Friday to lift Washington Academy to a season-opening 5-4 baseball victory Calais.

Joey Hunter hit two singles and a double for the Raiders and Derrick Porter added a two-run double. Colbeth doubled and singled with two runs scored and Mike Lenfestey singled twice.

Calais’ Jeremy Carr doubled and singled and Dylan Ramsdell had two singles and an RBI.

At East Machias, Alex McVicar doubled, singled and scored a run to lead Calais past Washington Academy.

Winning pitcher Courtney Hill singled twice and knocked in a run for Calais and Honor Wilkinson hit two singles.

Kayla Wood recorded 11 strikeouts and hit a double and two singles to lead the Raiders. Bre Nicely tripled and later scored on a Wood single. Carilla Fritz and Andi Flannery each provided two singles.
