BANGOR – Tammie Arsenault and Caitlin LeBorgne combined to allow six hits in two games Wednesday as Husson College shut out North Atlantic Conference foe UMaine-Farmington 8-0 and 6-0 in a softball doubleheader.
In the first game, Arsenault pitched a two-hitter, striking out seven and walking none as the Eagles won in five innings.
Dorothy Cameron tripled and singled (2 RBIs) while Carolyn McAvoy singled three times.
Sarah Defilipp and Brenna Conners singled for UMF.
In the second game, Arsenault allowed four hits and fanned six in five innings then LeBorgne pitched two perfect innings to seal the sweep.
McAvoy doubled and singled (2 RBIs) while Cassie Berry had three singles (2 RBIs).
Defillip, Kelly McDonough, Kasey McPhail and Katelyn Ross all singled for the Beavers.

At Brunswick, Kevin Zikaras drove in four runs with a homer and two singles to pace Bowdoin past Husson College.
Bowdoin took the lead for good in the fifth on Brendan Garner’s solo homer and Zikaras’ two-run single.
Ethan Guerette doubled twice for Husson of Bangor. Jeff Miller and Brooks Candage had two singles each and Tom Crews hit a solo homer.

Colby sweeps UM-Farmington
At Waterville, Ryan Murphy earned the win in relief in the first game and then had a save in the nightcap as Colby College took 8-7 and 2-0 victories over the University of Maine-Farmington in a doubleheader.
In the first game, John Lerner drove in pinch-runner Zak Starr with the winning run in the bottom of the eighth. Colin Riggs, John LaMantia and Ken Kaufman led the Mules with three hits apiece. Kaufman tied the game 7-7 with an RBI single in the seventh.
Kyle Shea paced UMF with three hits while Tyler Hanson hit a home run and Phineas Peake had a two-run double.
In the second game, Michael Cuqua hit his first collegiate home run for Colby while LaMantia added two hits.
Josh Garneau posted two hits for the Beavers.
