BAR HARBOR – Calvin Tweedie came on in relief of winning pitcher Peter Logue and struck out the only batter he faced with the bases loaded in the top of the seventh inning as the Mount Desert Island Trojans held on for a 9-8 high school baseball victory over Foxcroft Academy Wednesday.
Tweedie also knocked in the eventual winning run with a two-out, RBI triple in the sixth and hit a solo home run. Josh Delaittre hit three singles with three RBIs and Bret Mitchell knocked a solo homer and singled.
Josh Boone had two singles and an RBI for Foxcroft Academy and Tony Gabarro doubled.

Kasey Belcher led off the inning with a single, advanced to third on Lacey Littlefield’s single then scored on Wells’ infield grounder.
Littlefield held the Rams to four hits while walking three and striking out 14 for the Broncos.
Sam Bedore was just as solid for Bangor, surrendering just the two hits while striking out 12 and walking only one. Kim Jordan, Erin Dean, Eliza Estabrook and Erica Tweedie all singled.
