DYER BROOK – Melanie Allen cranked a grand slam to spark a six-run seventh inning that gave the Limestone Community School/Maine School of Science and Mathematics softball team the 11-10 win over Southern Aroostook Monday.
Allen also had a solo home run and singled and Dawn McDonald chipped in with an RBI double.
Elizabeth Goodall and Brittany Charette each singled twice for SAHS and Shelby Hartin tripled and had three RBIs.

At Van Buren, Kristal Deschaines drove in three runs with a double and three singles and also scored five runs as Van Buren outlasted Wisdom of St. Agatha.
Angel Richard and Macie Laplante had two singles and an RBI apiece for Van Buren and combined to score seven runs.
Sylvia Labrie had two doubles and two singles and knocked in three runs for Wisdom, Crystal McDonald knocked in four runs with a double and three singles and Andrea Chasse had a double and three singles and had two RBIs. McDonald and Chasse combined to score seven times.

Houlton sweeps Fort Kent
At Houlton, Nikki Eastman didn’t allow a hit after a leadoff single as Houlton shut out Fort Kent 12-0 in the first game of a doubleheader.
Houlton also won the second game 22-1.
In the first game, Eastman allowed no runs, one hit and two walks while striking out nine for Houlton. She also hit a triple and double with four RBIs. Lainey Herring added two singles and an RBI.
Mary Morris singled in the first for Fort Kent.
In the second game, Herring hit a three-run home run to pace Houlton. Erika Lackey had two singles and two RBIs and Chelsi Murray tripled and singled with two RBIs. Vanessa Sanderson hit three singles and drove in a run.
Breanna Thibodeau and Morris singled for Fort Kent.

At Houlton, Porter Gervais allowed two hits and no walks while striking out nine through six shutout innings to give Houlton the 11-0 win over Fort Kent in the first game of a doubleheader.
Fort Kent took the second game 6-5.
In the first game, Hunter Caron hit two doubles and knocked in two runs for Houlton. Ryan Hill had two singles and three RBIs.
Kole O’Leary and Nick Michaud singled for Fort Kent.
In the second game, Jared Soucy and Joe Soucy each had two singles and two RBIs to pace Fort Kent. Thomas Levesque added a single and two stolen bases.
Caron hit a two-run home run in the first inning for Houlton and Levi Prosser hit two singles and drove in a run.
