ELLSWORTH – Pat Kelley threw a no-hitter, striking out nine and walking one, as Ellsworth remained unbeaten with an 8-0 win over the Hermon High School Hawks in baseball action Tuesday.
Ellsworth improved to 6-0.
Garrett Kaspala hit two singles and drove in two runs for Ellsworth. Brad Folmer had two singles and an RBI while Kelley hit a two-run double for the undefeated Eagles.

At Monmouth, Eric Murphy tossed a five-hitter, striking out three and not walking anybody, as Monmouth Academy beat Georges Valley of Thomaston.
Ron Hobson knocked in two runs with a pair of doubles and a single and Mike Lindholm had a pair of doubles.
Liam Masterson doubled for Georges Valley.

At Harrington, Josh Beal and Jeremy Look each hit two-run homers in an eight-run first inning, Look’s an inside-the-park shot, as the undefeated Knights rolled to their fourth victory.
Colby Tucker chipped in with two singles and an RBI for the winners and Blake Chase had a double and single.
Sid Look hit a two-run triple for the Royals and Harry Beal singled twice.

At Rockland, Gardiner pitchers combined allowing one run on two hits with 19 strikeouts to power Gardiner by Rockland.
Kyle Stilphen hit two doubles and a home run for Gardiner. Chris Howe tallied two singles and a double while Forrest Chadwick and Mike Abbott each hit a home run and a single. Nick Machino added a home run and Roland Kennerson posted a triple and a single for the Tigers.

At Bar Harbor, Steve Kalenowski’s RBI single in the top of the seventh put the Golden Bucks ahead as they scored seven times in the inning to defeat MDI.
Tyler French singled in the inning’s first run to tie the game; Kyle McGeaghan knocked in a run with a double and singled twice for Bucksport. Derek Fish had two singles, a double and two RBIs.
Devin Young knocked a three-run homer and Calvin Tweedie had two singles and an RBI for the Trojans.

At Bar Harbor, Emily Lenor cranked a three-run home run in Bucksport’s five-run third-inning en route to their third victory.
Keely Sullivan chipped in with a two-run triple and single for the winners and Rochelle Pelletier and Lenor had two singles apiece.
Emma Damon singled twice and scored two runs for MDI and Elizabeth Sargent notched a run-scoring single.

Debbie Colpitts knocked an RBI triple while Lily Berry contributed a sacrifice fly for Hermon.

At Waldoboro, Delaney Evans scored on a passed ball to cap a two-run eighth inning and give the Black Bears the win.
The Panthers scored with no outs in the bottom half of the inning, but Sarah Maxwell then struck out the next three batters to end the game.
Samantha Mitchell singled in Maxwell from third with the first run for Maranacook of Readfield. Mitchell and Maxwell each hit two singles.
Maxwell was also the winning pitcher. She struck out 13 and walked one.
Medomak narrowed the gap when Melissa Ambridge singled, moved to third on Rachel Keefe’s single and scored when Keefe’s theft of second base drew a throw.

At Rockport, freshman Maci Heal and Hayley Buckheit each had an RBI single in the second inning and the Windjammers held on for the win.
Buckheit, making her first varsity pitching start, allowed just three hits while striking out four and walking one.
Freshman Vicky Overlock also pitched well for Belfast, allowing just three hits with five strikeouts and four walks.
Heal had two singles for Camden Hills, while Overlock singled twice for the Lions.
