Bangor Daily News High School Players of the Week

BOYS

Big School (Classes A-B)

PAT KELLEY

Kelley, a member of the Ellsworth baseball team, pitched two shutouts, including a no-hitter with nine strikeouts and one walk, as the undefeated Eagles defeated Hermon 8-0. Kelley also pitched a one-hitter with seven strikeouts in a 3-0 victory over Bucksport.

Small School (Classes C-D)

JARED WAITE

Waite, a member of the Schenck of East Millinocket track and field team, swept the 100- and 200-meter dashes during a seven-team meet at Oakes Field in Dover-Foxcroft. Waite won the 100 in 12.04 seconds and the 200 in 24.45 seconds.

GIRLS

Big School (Classes A-B)

LACEY LITTLEFIELD

The Hampden Academy senior pitcher combined to allow just six hits while striking out 26 in KVAC North victories over Bangor and Nokomis of Newport. Littlefield went the distance in a nine-inning, 1-0 triumph over Bangor, striking out 14 , then allowed just two hits, walked only two and fanned 12 in a 4-0 shutout of the Warriors.

Small School (Classes C-D)

WHITNEY FLINT

Ashland senior pitcher Flint pitched a two-hit shutout against Hodgdon and a no-hitter against Fort Fairfield last week, striking out 23 in 10 innings pitched. She aided her cause with a 6-for-8 effort at the plate, knocking in eight runs, scoring six times and stealing five bases against Hodgdon. Flint followed that up Tuesday with a double, single and three RBIs in a victory over Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook.
