Editor’s Note: An incorrect version of the Searsport District High School honor parts announcement ran in Wednesday’s paper. Here is the correct announcement.

Principal Gregg Palmer has announced the honor parts for the 2008 graduating class at Searsport District High School.

Amanda Chaney, daughter of David and Winnie Chaney of Searsport, has been named valedictorian for the Class of 2008.

She maintained high honors all four years of high school and was a member of the National Honor Society since her sophomore year. She was president of the NHS her senior year, a member of the National Junior Honor Society and attended Girls State in her junior year.

Chaney played varsity basketball three years and was an all-star, played varsity soccer all four years and was a member of the school band all four years. She has been a member of the Waldo County Riding and Driving Club for four years.

Elizabeth Eden, daughter of Brad and Joann Eden of Frankfort, has been named salutatorian for the Class of 2008.

She has maintained honors by earning an A grade in all of her courses throughout her high school years. She has been a band member for four years, including pep, marching and concert bands and also first chair in the flute section in concert band.

Eden volunteered at Harbor Hill Nursing Home during her junior and senior years.

Kylie Jettinghoff, daughter of Amy Flewelling and Rolfe Jettinghoff of Searsport, has been named first honor part. She has maintained honors throughout her high school years, was a member of the National Junior Honor Society and its vice president during her freshman year, and was a member of the National Honor Society in her junior and senior years. She participated in the sister school program with the Urban Assembly School for Law and Justice in Brooklyn, N.Y., during her last three years of high school. She was class president her sophomore year and vice president her junior year.

Jettinghoff played and was captain of the varsity basketball team her freshman and sophomore years, and was captain of the varsity basketball team her junior and senior years. She played varsity softball all four years and served as captain, and played varsity soccer all four years and served as captain.

Casey Middleswart, daughter of Deb Middleswart of Searsport and the late Blaine Middleswart, has been named second honor part.

She has maintained honor grades throughout her high school years, and has been a member of the marching, concert and pep bands during her junior and senior years.

Middleswart was a member of the soccer team her sophomore and junior years and served as a volunteer at Harbor Hill Nursing home her junior and senior years.
