Witches win KVAC title

BREWER – Melanie Judkins allowed five hits and four walks while striking out eight to lead Brewer to a 2-0 shutout of Cony of Augusta at Coffin Field on Saturday in the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference championship.

Dominique DeFilipp hit an RBI groundout in the first inning and scored in the fifth inning for Brewer. Meghan McLain singled twice.

Maegan Cloutier, Amy Jones, Chelsea Soule, Emlyn Perry and Suzannah Deeves singled for Cony.

Calais 9, Woodland 3

At Calais, Toni Cole singled twice and drove in two runs to help push Calais past Woodland to claim the Downeast Athletic Conference championship.

Tessa Clark doubled and singled for the Blue Devils.

Marlene Flaherty hit an RBI single in the sixth inning to pace Woodland. Molly White singled and scored a run and Shelby Bassett struck out eight batters.

At Calais, Dylan Ramsdell allowed two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out four to lift Calais over Woodland to win the Downeast Athletic Conference championship.

Ramsdell did not allow a hit through the first five innings.

Calais’ Ramsdell hit a two-run single in the third inning and Jordan Leeman singled twice.

Aaron St. Pierre and Ben Sears both singled and scored in the sixth inning for Woodland. Ryan Rohte hit a pinch-hit double in the seventh.
