After eight years with the Bangor office of WBRC Architects-Engineers, Richard Graves is moving to Minnesota to join the firm of Perkins and Will. Green designed and managed some notable projects while at WBRC, the company said. The projects included the new research building at the Mount Desert Island Biological Laboratory, the student union and the master plan for Maine Maritime Academy, the Robert D. O’Donnell Commons, Ross Y. Furman Student Center, Meeting House, and master plan for Husson College.
WoodenBoat Publications Inc. of Brooklin has appointed Todd Richardson as the new advertising director for WoodenBoat and Professional BoatBuilder magazines, and for ProBoat Events Online. He will manage the print and online sales activities of five advertising sales representatives throughout the U.S., as well as have direct responsibility for advertising sales internationally, in the Midwest for WoodenBoat magazine and in the Northwest for Professional BoatBuilder magazine. Richardson brings 28 years of sales and marketing management experience to the position. Richardson previously worked for Schering Plough Corp. and Gould Paper New York, where he implemented national purchasing and cost reduction programs for leading corporations such as Mercedes-Benz N.A., Unilever, Donna Karan Fashions, Polo and Nautica. He was also the North American national manufacturing representative for paper manufacturers International Paper and Potlatch Corp.
MMG Insurance Co., a regional property and casualty insurance company based in Presque Isle, has promoted assistant vice president Stephen J. Gallant to vice president and Arthur “A.J.” Cloukey to senior accountant. MMG’s CEO Larry M. Shaw recently announced the selection of Gallant to fill the vacant position of marketing director, a move from his former position as accounting manager. Gallant, who joined the company in 1996, holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in business administration from Husson College. He is president of the board of directors for the Presque Isle Country Club, and serves on the board of directors for LEAD and on an advisory committee at Northern Maine Community College. He is a member of the Presque Isle Rotary Club. Gallant and his wife, June, have two children, Rebeckah and Nicolas. Cloukey, who graduated summa cum laude from Thomas College in 2000, joined Maine Mutual as an assistant accountant and in 2003 was promoted to accountant. He is the son of Rene Cloukey and Elaine Fortin.
