Irving Oil, Shaw’s bring back gas program

BANGOR – Beginning Friday, Shaw’s and Irving Oil are bringing back their Override program, in which grocery purchases at the supermarket yield coupons for discounts at the gas station.

“We are incredibly excited to bring this program back to customers in the Bangor area just in time for their summer trips,” said Harry Hadiaris, director of business to consumer operations for Irving. “Override is truly the right program at the right time.”

The minimum grocery purchase at Shaw’s for the program is $35, which will reduce the per-gallon price at the pump by 5 cents up to 20 gallons.

Shoppers can save up to 60 cents off a gallon if their grocery purchase tops $300.

The following Shaw’s locations are participating:

. 46 Springer Drive and 535 Main St., Bangor.

The following Irving locations are participating:

. 1123 Burleigh Road; 489 Broadway; 545 Main St., 301 Odlin Road, all in Bangor.

More than 160 Irving locations and 73 Shaw’s locations are participating in the Override program throughout New England.
