DEXTER – The public is invited to the Public Swim Front from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 12, for Dexter Lakes Day to learn about the Lake Wassookeag and Puffers Pond watersheds and the things people can do to protect them.
In addition to informational stations covering septic systems, camp road maintenance, invasive aquatic plants and lakeside landscapes there’ll be an Ask the Experts stand for any water quality questions. Dexter Utility District will have the water filtration plant open for tours throughout the day.
There will be a plant swap station, Sonya Cianchette from Through the Garden Gate in Corinna will sell plants, and Back Porch II will perform from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Activities for kids also will be provided. As a bonus, Lakeshore Restaurant will offer discounts on food to all Dexter Lakes Day participants
