Vose nets three in Woodland win over Shead

WOODLAND – Alicia Vose knocked in three goals and added an assist as the Woodland Dragons blanked the Shead Tigers 8-0 in schoolgirl soccer action Thursday.

Kaitlyn Leeman had two goals and three assists for 7-5 Woodland. Beth Covey had a goal and an assist, and Jill Pottle added a goal. Covey and Ali Seavey combined in net to stop seven of 13 shots.

Roliza DeWitt and Mary Ingersoll combined to stop 17 of 28 shots for 4-7 Shead of Eastport.

Fort Fairfield 3, Limestone 0

At Limestone, Miranda Butler drove in two goals to propel the Tigers.

Jen Enman provided a goal for 4-9-1 Fort Fairfield. Dani Searles made seven saves on 10 shots.

Nikki Michaud rejected 14 of 15 shots for the 4-9-1 Limestone/Maine School of Science and Mathematics Eagles.

Schenck 3, Katahdin 3 (2OT)

At East Millinocket, Jessica Dow had two goals and an assist for the 4-7-1 Wolverines while K.C. Duffy-Stanley notched a pair of goals for the 5-5-2 Cougars of Sherman Station.

Sarah Gordon added a goal and an assist for Schenck. Beth Chasse made nine saves on 14 shots.

Crystal Daggett added a goal for Katahdin. Michelle Martin stopped five of 10 shots.

Penquis 4, Dexter 2

At Dexter, April Allen scored two unassisted goals to lead the Patriots of Milo to victory.

Kate Hamlin added an unassisted goal for the 8-4-1 winners and Shannon Gerrish added a goal off a Lindsay Hamlin assist. Goalie Ashley Pelletier made 12 saves on 16 shots.

Lindsay Turner scored two goals for 6-5-1 Dexter, one unassisted and the other off a Sarah Turner pass. Goalie Daphne Robichaud made 15 saves on 25 shots.

Greenville 6, Highview Chr. 0

At Charleston, Cindy Lebel knocked home four goals as the Lakers rolled to their 10th win.

Diane Aucoin added a goal and an assist for 10-1 Greenville. Jesse Craft was credited with a goal, in which a Highview player scored an own goal. Craft stopped both Highview shots on net.

Sherry Cooper made 24 saves on 38 shots for the 0-7 Knights.

Bucksport 2, Brewer 1 (2OT)

At Brewer, Jill Richards, who had a goal plus an assist, scored with 2:35 left in the second overtime off a pass from Brittany Damon as the unbeaten Golden Bucks squeaked by the 2-10 Witches.

Erica Bourgoin provided 11-0-1 Bucksport’s other goal. Jana Richards rejected nine of 10 shots.

Stacie Bean provided Brewer’s goal off a pass from Rachel Wing. Stephanie Dickey made 10 saves on 12 shots.

Orono 1, Hermon 0

At Orono, Kaylee Westhoven scored an unassisted goal 18 seconds into the second half to lift the Red Riots to victory.

Joelle Clingerman got the shutout for 6-4-3 Orono, stopping three of five shots.

Shannon Wiggin rejected seven of 13 shots for the 1-9-2 Hawks.

Boys soccer

Calais 4, Narraguagus 1

At Harrington, Adam Pollock knocked in two goals as the Blue Devils improved to 7-3-1.

Andy Frost added three assists for Calais. Scott McDonald had a goal plus an assist, and Mike DeMolet added a goal. Nathan Pelletier made 13 saves on 23 shots.

Corey Worcester provided the goal for the 4-9 Knights, off a pass from Mike Beal. Eric Peltier made 19 saves on 26 shots.

Hampden 4, Caribou 1

At Hampden, four different players found the back of the net as the Broncos knocked off the Vikings.

Jake Cohen and Adam Stanley each had a goal plus an assist for 7-3-2 Hampden. Peter Mocone and Guillermo Bonilla added a goal each, and Kenny Mayo stopped five of six shots.

Mike Hoffman scored off a penalty kick for 9-3-1 Caribou. Nick Chasse made nine saves on 13 shots.

JV: Hampden 4-1

Lee 4, Katahdin 1

At Sherman Station, four different players scored for Lee as the Pandas rolled.

Dustin Pickering, Jason Mallett, Gerry Worster, and Corey Bower provided the goals for the winners. Adam Ham made 15 saves on 27 shots.

Tom Rodgerson scored for the Cougars. Chris McNally rejected five of 27 shots.

Greenville 5, Highview Chr. 0

At Greenville, Frank Bushey and Tyler Muzzy scored two goals each, sparking the Lakers to victory.

Derek Boucher provided a goal and an assist for the 10-0-2 Lakers, while Chris Waldron and Eric Driscoll added assists. Gregory Aucoin made five saves on five shots.

Dave Day and Gordon Lovell combined to make 23 saves on 37 shots for 4-5 Highview Christian of Charleston.

Ellsworth 5, Bucksport 0

At Ellsworth, Matt Burns scored two goals, one off a corner kick and the other off a direct kick, to lead Ellsworth to victory.

Seth Mayo chipped in with a goal and an assist for the 9-2-1 winners and Kris Tracy and Jensen Rich each added a goal. Casey Lock notched an assist and Chad Smith made six saves on 11 shots.

Trevor Stevens finished with 10 saves on 29 shots for 0-12-1 Bucksport.

JV: Ellsworth 2-0

Field hockey

Hampden 5, Foxcroft 4 (OT)

At Dover-Foxcroft, Sarah Peters scored the game-winner off a pass from Whitney Brydon with 2:42 left in overtime, as the Broncos improved to 7-5.

Brydon added four goals and Peters notched two assists for the winners. Jen Hessert made 21 saves on 26 shots.

For the 7-4-1 Ponies, Molly Tibbetts had two goals while Tamlyn Frederick and Ashley McKusick added one each. Megan Ryder rejected seven of 12 shots.

JV: Foxcroft 1-0

Old Town 4, Mattanawcook 0

At Lincoln, Kendall Tracewski knocked in three goals, and Kasey Spencer assisted on two of them as the Indians prevailed.

Liz Saucier provided a goal for 12-0 Old Town. Emily Richard made four saves on 10 shots.

Sara McCormick turned back seven of 11 shots for the 2-8-2 Lynx.

JV: Mattanawcook 3-1

Winslow 6, Camden Hills 0

At Camden, Katie Souviney booted home three goals while Katie Flaherty added three assists as the Black Raiders blanked the Windjammers.

Mary Lambert, Mallory Finley, and Heather McLean added a goal each for 7-5 Winslow. Cierra Byrne was the netminder for the Raiders, which held 3-9 Camden Hills without a shot.

Becky McCrohan made 10 saves on 16 shots for the Windjammers.

JV: Camden Hills 1-0

Nokomis 3, Bangor 1

At Newport, Angela DeRaps scored two first-half goals, propelling the Warriors to victory.

Mandi Foss scored the other goal for 6-6 Nokomis, with Kaycea Grignon and Sarah Stewart posting assists. Brandi Davis made three saves on four shots.
