I’d be surprised if it’s not a common Bangor resident reaction to cringe with sadness and guilt as we pass the old standing giant Paul Bunyan statue these days.
To realize that he is now stuck, no longer gazing over the mighty Penobscot River (from whence his tall tale and proud logging history began), but now dwarfed with a view totally blocked by the huge new gambling building. It must make poor Paul sick at heart. I don’t have to bet he yearns to look upon the river once more.
Let’s start a project to save Paul’s pride. Maybe call it the Blue Ox Fund to finance the cost of relocating him over to river-side.
