BREWER-BANGOR – Fourth of July parade 11 a.m. July 4 begins at corner of Acme Road and Wilson Street in Brewer, proceeds down Wilson Street, across Joshua Chamberlain Bridge, turns right on Main Street in Bangor, proceeds down Main Street, right on State Street, disbands on Exchange Street. Annual fireworks display over Penobscot River at dusk.
BREWER-BANGOR – Fireworks 9:15 p.m. July 4, on The Waterfront. Spectators may view fireworks from Joshua Chamberlain Bridge for $1, with proceeds helping Kiwanis pay for Fourth of July activities.

BREWER – The eighth annual July 4 Solidarity Celebration, from 5 p.m. until fireworks start on Friday, July 4, at the Solidarity Center at 20 Ivers St. featuring acoustic singer-songwriter Bill Morrissey, David Mallett and Bucksport singer Shawn Mercer. Speakers include U.S. Reps. Michael Michaud and Tom Allen, labor movement leaders, along with the Bush Legacy Bus. Food will be served, including Paul’s roasted local organic lamb, homemade vegetarian dishes and a union chili cook-off.
BROOKS – The Brooks Booster Club’s annual Fourth of July celebration begins at 8 p.m. Thursday, July 3, with a kickoff Independence Day performance by the band No Warning at Community Park. Friday’s events begin with a Community Breakfast at the Varney Building at 7 a.m., with the Let Freedom Ring 5-mile road race and parade through town at 10 a.m.; chicken barbecue at noon; comedian Gary Crocker 1 p.m.; arm wrestling 2 p.m.; weightlifting contest 3 p.m.; pig scramble 5:30 p.m.; NAWA wrestling 6-8 p.m. Steel Toe Booty will play at 8 p.m.; fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Admission $5, children under 12 free.

SEARSPORT – The Fourth of July celebration will begin with rowboat races at the public landing at 8 a.m., followed by auction at Methodist church at 9 a.m. The parade begins at 1 p.m. and afterward will be a children’s muster at the Fire Department. Fireworks at Mosman Park at 9 p.m.
SWANVILLE – The Swan Lake Association Fourth of July boat parade begins at noon at the boat ramp. There will be trophies for best pontoon board and best V-hull boats based on the best-decorated boats with a July Fourth theme.
