Lincoln edges Orrington Cota helps Orono win in Junior League tourney

HAMPDEN – Mikey Gerrish had two singles, including the game-winner in the eighth that scored two runs, to lead Lincoln past the Orrington All-Stars 18-16 in a District 3 Junior League game Monday at Bordick Park.

Chase Vicaire added three singles for Lincoln and Timmy Nelson singled twice.

Sean O’Donnell had three singles and a triple while Dillon Smith singled twice for Orrington.

Orono 11, Old Town 4

At Hampden, Nick Cota hit two singles and pitched five innings to earn the victory and help lead Orono to the win.

Bryce Mehnart also had two singles while Tyler Eddy and Josh Storgard each doubled for Orono.

Andrew Richardson led Old Town with an RBI single.

Hermon, Lincoln post wins

At Bangor West, Hermon defeated Houlton 7-5 and Lincoln beat Holbrook 9-8.

Tyler Beaton was the winning pitcher for Hermon.

Lincoln scored in the bottom of the sixth inning to edge Holbrook. Trevor Delaite paced the offense with two singles and a double.

Alex Maxsimic singled twice for Holbrook and Ryan Gideon doubled.

Hampden 6, Holbrook 4

At Brewer, Luther Von Eigen hit an RBI double in the top of the sixth inning to drive in the winning run for the Hampden all-stars.

Kyle Clifford paced Hampden with two singles while Noah Parker had an RBI single and scored two runs, including the game-winner.

Joseph Archambault had a double, single and RBI for Holbrook. Matthew Spear hit two singles.

At Blue Hill, Tyler Varney singled in the first inning, moved to second on a passed ball and scored the only run on a throwing error to give Machias the win over Coastal.

Machias’ Gabe Feeney allowed seven hits and two walks while striking out nine through six shutout innings. He also singled in the fourth.

Connor Morey allowed one run on two hits, one hit batter and no walks while striking out 11 for Coastal. Curtis Farrin singled twice and Zac Hiltz doubled.

Ellsworth 17, Moosabec 0

At Ellsworth, Jake Maguire, Dustin Smelley, Brian Jones and Brandon Braley combined to pitch a four-inning perfect game to lift Ellsworth past Moosabec.

The four combined for eight strikeouts.

Ellsworth’s Jones hit three singles and a double while driving in four runs. Mike Brooks, Anthony Gardner and Smelley each singled three times.

At Bucksport, Josh Gray hit three singles and a double while driving in six runs to lead Bucksport past Sunrise.

Chris Chaffee had two singles and three RBIs for Bucksport and Tyler Maguire added a double and three RBIs.

Connor Lee tripled and scored a run to lead Sunrise.

At Calais, Jonathan Edwards tripled and singled while driving in two runs to help push Calais past Acadian.

P.J. Dakota hit a solo home run in the fourth inning for Calais. Tyler Morrison and Matt Ross each had a double, single and an RBI.

Ross Johnston and Andrew Davis singled for Acadian.

Katahdin Valley 5, Bangor West 2

At Island Falls, Katahdin Valley scored five runs in the fourth inning to eliminate Bangor West.

Dylan Porter doubled, singled and knocked in two runs for Katahdin Valley. Wyatt Morse added two singles and an RBI.

Galen Perry had two singles, a run scored and a stolen base to pace Bangor West. Hunter Boyce and Justin Ireland doubled.

At Glenburn, Shawn Curran hit a two-out two-run double in the bottom of the sixth inning to give Holbrook the win over Glenburn.

Holbrook’s Curran also hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning. John Collins doubled twice.

Nick Graham led Glenburn with a double, two singles and an RBI. Alex Campbell doubled and singled.

Aaron Osborne had two singles and A.J. MacEachern two singles and an RBI for the winners.

Justin White and Zac Palmeter singled for Orono-Veazie.

At Calais, Adam Geel allowed two hits and three walks while striking out 10 to lead Calais past Machias.

Tommy Collins hit two triples and drove in three runs for Calais. Geel tripled and doubled. Dylan Carter had two singles and two RBIs and Jeremy Beers doubled.

Toby Woods and Nick Pineo each singled to lead Machias.

At Bangor, Glenburn pushed across 13 runs in the third inning en route to the win over Bangor.

Sammy Shultz, Emma Arice, Brianna Parker and Jessica Bradford all singled for the winners.

Annie Guase, Kami Prendergast and Kristen Henigan singled for Bangor.
