Old Town teens caught with marijuana, alcohol

A taxicab driver noticed a car filled with teens being driven erratically in Bangor on Wednesday evening, and when it passed him he could smell marijuana, so he called Bangor police, Sgt. Bob Bishop said Thursday, reading from the report.

An officer pulled over the car, driven by a 17-year-old female from Old Town, at 6:45 p.m. as she was pulling into a parking lot near Bass Park.

The group of five Old Town teens, who were all males except for the driver and who ranged in age from 14 to 17, were heading to the Bangor State Fair.

Police confiscated a usable amount of marijuana, marijuana pipes and a large bottle of rum, Bishop said. The parents of the teens were called to pick them up, he said.

Specific information about misdemeanor juvenile charges is not public information, but most likely the teens will appear next month in 3rd District Court in Bangor to face the charges against them, listed by Bishop as possession of marijuana and possession of alcohol. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)

Investigators believe the burglaries occurred within the past four or five days. One was discovered Wednesday and the other break-in was reported Thursday when the owner returned after a four-day absence, he said.
