BANGOR – With winter on the way, many Mainers are becoming increasingly preoccupied with energy efficiency.
With that in mind, Bangor Hydro-Electric Co. has organized Maine Winter Expo 2008.
The event, which will take place from 1 to 6 p.m. Sept. 24 at the Spectacular Event Center, 395 Griffin Road, is aimed at the residential and small-business markets, according to Bangor Hydro spokeswoman Susan Faloon.
The theme for the expo is “Weathering the Storm.”
During the event, Mainers will get to learn more about how to prepare their homes and families for winter safety, and about new products and programs designed to help them stay energy-efficient.
According to Bangor Hydro, the exposition will provide tips and tools in two categories:
. Winter Preparedness and Safety will feature information and displays from local and regional emergency management and public safety officials, weather and utility experts, and nonprofit organizations serving elderly, low-income and other struggling populations.
. Energy Solutions will address energy-saving tips and products from state and regional utility authorities, the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, service providers, vendors and more.
