AUGUSTA – A Mattawamkeag man is going to jail for a year for trying to get someone to burn down his three-unit apartment building in Gardiner.

David Owen, 73, was sentenced Monday in Kennebec County Superior Court.

Owen was convicted in June of solicitation to commit arson.

No fire was ever set.
