BANGOR – The International Society for Clinical Densitometry announced that Elizabeth Duke of the Maine Rehabilitation Center recently attended the ISCD bone densitometry course and has been recognized as a certified clinical densitometrist.
ISCD is a nonprofit professional society of more than 5,000 clinician and technologist members from more than 40 countries. It is dedicated to improving the quality of bone density testing for osteoporosis, educating health care providers, increasing patient awareness and supporting scientific advances. The new technologies for measuring bone density, combined with development of improved treatments for osteoporosis, have created a demand for the education and certification of health care providers.
