CASTINE – Diana Manatt-Rogers scored three goals to power the Maine Maritime Academy Mariners to a 5-0 women’s soccer victory over the Unity College Rams Thursday.
Emily Brogdon of Union had a goal and an assist and Katie Hutchinson scored a goal for the 2-4 Mariners. Lacey Jackson notched the shutout in goal.
Deidra Ousterhout made 11 saves on 30 shots for the Rams.
Field hockey
Saint Joseph’s 4, Fitchburg St. 1
At Standish, Saint Joseph’s College scored four first-half goals as the Monks defeated Fitchburg State.
Kayla Nowell had two goals for the 3-1 Saint Joseph’s. Julia Ostrowski had a goal and an assist and Amanda Sebastiao scored her first college goal. Alyssa Dunn and Jillian Kimball each provided two assists. Meaghan Johnson stopped four of five shots.
Paula Bartalamia scored at 28:15 in the first half off a Kaylee Bergeron assist. Taylor Van Ahnen made eight saves on 13 shots for 2-1 Fitchburg State.
Men’s soccer
SMCC 2, EMCC 0
At Bangor, Stephen Hinkly scored both goals to lead Southern Maine Community College of South Portland past Eastern Maine Community College.
Matt Richio and Lyle Conner provided assists for 1-3 SMCC. Richio and Bryan Piascczny combined to save 10 of 15 shots.
Richard Parks turned away 17 of 23 shots for the 0-3 Golden Eagles.
St. Joseph’s 2, Daniel Webster 0
At Nashua, N.H., Doug McCallum scored both goals to lead the Saint Joseph’s College Monks past Daniel Webster College.
Will Pike saved 10 of 15 shots for the 2-3-1 Monks.
Joe Keene and Fred Jacobs alternated halves at goal, but Jacobs made all five saves on 11 shots.
Maine Maritime 8, Unity 0
At Castine, Nate Tipton scored two goals and assisted on another to lead the Maine Maritime Academy Mariners by Unity.
Pat Somma, Josh McFarland of Searsport, Jakub Rucinski, Greg Smith, Kyle Ritchie of Searsport, and Omar Chaar of Stockton Springs scored the other goals for the 2-3 Mariners. Randy Bartlett made six saves on six shots.
Chad Pin made 26 saves on 34 shots for the Rams.
