The Maine Winter Sports Center will host its first Harvest Classic bike race and tour in Caribou on Sunday.

Two events are planned: A 40-mile race and a 20-mile tour. Cyclists of all ages and ability levels are encouraged to participate.

The 40-mile race will be a two-lap event that starts in the Caribou High School parking lot and loops through Carson, Perham and Woodland. The 20-mile tour is a one-lap event on the same course.

The 40-miler begins at 9 a.m., while the 20-miler starts at 9:05. Registration will start at 7:30 a.m. at Caribou High School. No preregistration will be necessary.

Entry fee is $12, or $10 with the donation of a used pair of running shoes to the MWSC shoe recycling program. Shoes will be collected on the morning of the event.

All proceeds from the races will be given to the Northern Skiers junior athlete fund.
