Hospice offering volunteer training

ELLSWORTH – Hospice of Hancock County has several opportunities available for those who would like to get involved with hospice or bereavement support services.

Volunteer training classes for bereavement facilitators (grief support persons) and patient care volunteers will begin Tuesday, Oct. 7, and Wednesday, Oct. 8, and each will run for nine weeks. The classes are offered 3:30-7 p.m. and offer extensive introductions to providing support and comfort to patients near the end of life and their families, both before and after the loved one’s death.

For information, call the Hospice of Hancock County office at 667-2531.
