BREWER – Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems has been honored for its employee-friendly workplace policies.

Modern Healthcare, a national health care publication, recently named EMHS one of 100 companies designated in 2008 as a Best Place to Work based on input from employees and managers.

Earlier this month, the Maine chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management named EMHS one of 26 companies named as Best Places to Work in Maine after surveying employee satisfaction in eight areas: leadership, planning, corporate culture, communications, role satisfaction, work environment, pay and benefits, and overall satisfaction.

Michelle Hood, CEO of EMHS, said the organization is “very honored” by the designations.
