Wilcox, DuPont help Coyotes win

OLD TOWN – Sarah Wilcox scored off an assist from Kayla DuPont with 11 minutes left in the game to lift the Old Town Coyotes to a 2-1 high school field hockey win over the Foxcroft Academy Ponies Monday.

Lindsay St. Louis scored in the first half with an assist from Wilcox for 4-2-1 Old Town. Heather Nye and Danyle Boobar combined for 11 saves on 12 shots.

Sabrina Sharrow scored off a Kelsey Boss assist in the first half for 7-2 Foxcroft Academy. Cassie Curtis stopped five of seven shots.

JV: Foxcroft 3-0

Camden Hills 3, Nokomis 3

At Rockport, Camden Hills’ Sarah Nason and Nokomis of Newport’s Maria Adams didn’t allow a goal during two overtimes as the game ended tied.

Maci Heal tied it at 3-3 with 4:07 left in regulation for 2-5-1 Camden Hills. Monica Doucette had a goal and an assist and Hillary Gordon added a goal. Katie Weiler assisted Doucette’s goal while Nason stopped seven of 10 shots.

Sabrina Vaillancourt scored two goals for the 7-1-2 Warriors. Jordan McGinnis also had a goal. Adams turned away nine of 12 shots.

JV: 1-1

MA Lynx 2, Piscataquis 1 (2OT)

At Lincoln, Brooke Hanscom scored the winner off a Kamryn Knott assist with 3:27 left in the second overtime to lift Mattanawcook Academy over Piscataquis of Guilford.

Knott scored in the second half with an assist from Alexa Olsen for the 4-5 Lynx. Colleen Albert made 15 saves on 18 shots.

Salina Kain scored off a Maggie Abbott assist with 4:18 remaining in regulation for 0-8 Piscataquis. Brianna Tweedie turned away 12 of 15 shots.

Girls soccer

Penobscot Valley 3, Penquis 0

At Howland, Molly Thompson, Leslie Theriault and Alysa Whitten scored goals to lead Penobscot Valley to victory over Penquis of Milo.

Casey McCloskey stopped 12 of 16 shots for 5-2-1 Penobscot Valley.

Erica Lyford saved 20 of 32 shots for 1-7-1 Penquis.

Boys soccer

John Bapst 4, MDI 3

At Bar Harbor, Jordan Meyers snapped a 2-2 tie by converting a 30-yard free kick with 23 minutes remaining in regulation and Jason McBurnie added an insurance goal seven minutes later as John Bapst upended Mount Desert Island.

Max Cutri and Andrew Casey staked the 4-3-1 Crusaders to a 2-0 lead in the first half but Ben Steel scored off an Abe Gladstone assist and Gladstone tied it off a Connor Records pass later in the first half.

Gladstone scored off a free kick with two minutes left in regulation but the 4-3-1 Trojans couldn’t get the equalizer.

Casey Hull made three saves on eight shots for John Bapst while Ben Cummings made seven stops on 14 shots for MDI.

JV: 1-1

Piscataquis 2, Schenck 1

At East Millinocket, Kyle Stevens scored an unassisted goal with 2:29 left in regulation to break the 1-1 tie and give Piscataquis of Guilford the win over Schenck.

Brian Hackett scored a first-half goal off a Damien Bridge assist for 4-3-2 Piscataquis. Corbin Shufelt stopped 10 of 26 shots.

Chris Ouellette scored in the first half with an assist from Devin Dickey. Ryan Thompson turned away 24 of 37 shots for 1-7-1 Schenck.

Dexter 3, Foxcroft 0

At Dover-Foxcroft, Lee Gustin, Ryan Wilks and Devon Grant scored to give Dexter the win over Foxcroft Academy.

Tor Anderson provided an assist for Dexter. Nathan Wyman stopped all five shots.

Alex Gray saved eight of 11 shots for Foxcroft Academy.

Skowhegan 9, Nokomis 3

At Newport, Nick McCann and Shane Martineau had hat tricks as Skowhegan defeated Nokomis.

Ben Quirion added two goals for 1-7 Skowhegan. Sebastien Dumont scored a goal while Hank Davis and McCann provided assists. Nick Beaulieu and Robert Adams combined for nine saves on 17 shots.

Elijah Davis and Chris Braley each had a goal and an assist for the 0-8 Warriors. Dylan Savageau added a goal and Justin Amoroso saved 15 of 26 shots.

JV: Nokomis 3-0

Orono 3, Penquis 1

At Milo, unassisted goals by Nick Dimoulas and Ian Staples staked the Red Riots to a lead they would not relinquish.

Brandon Paul scored off a Sean Kilpatrick assist for 7-2 Orono. A.J. Coleman made two saves on six shots.

Ryan Bailey scored on a penalty shot for the 2-5-1 Patriots. Richie Russell made 13 saves on 25 shots.

Central 2, Hermon 1

At Corinth, Jacob Speed scored a goal and assisted on the other as Central defeated Hermon.

Matt Kelley scored with 14:48 left in the second half to give Central a 2-0 lead. Patrick Byers assisted Speed’s goal. Cole Haskell turned away 18 of 26 shots for the 5-2-2 Red Devils.

Jesse Graffam scored with 8:22 remaining in regulation for 1-8 Hermon. Cory Johnson and Jeremy McIntyre combined for 13 saves on 23 shots.

JV: Hermon 13-0

Katahdin 4, Lee Acad. 2

At Lee, Ethan Qualey’s second goal of the game, coming with eight minutes remaining, gave Katahdin a valuable insurance goal as the Cougars improved to 10-0.

Marshall Davis had a goal and two assists for the winners and Kolby Gallagher had the other goal. Matt Tarr made nine saves on 16 shots.

Dean MacDonald and Ocean Oh scored for the 1-4-1 Pandas and A.J. Harris made 14 saves on 22 shots.

Woodland 7, Jonesport-Beals 2

At Woodland, Chad James scored four goals and assisted another as Woodland defeated Jonesport-Beals.

Scott Boomer added two goals for 6-3 Woodland. Brad Arthurs had a goal and an assist and Ben Sears provided three assists. Tom Putnam and Charles Tomah each had an assist. Ryan Lincoln saved eight of 10 shots.

Freshman Matt Alley scored both goals for 0-8 Jonesport-Beals. Terrell Carver provided an assist and Cody Thistlewood made 18 saves on 25 shots.
