Bangor woman jailed for false name, license

A Bangor woman found herself in hot water Monday night after she was pulled over for speeding in Eddington.

Not only did she provide police a fake name, she also was found to be driving without a valid driver’s license, according to Deputy Daren Mason of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department.

Dawn Marie Hanson, 40, of Bangor was charged with refusing to provide her name and with aggravated operating after revocation, Mason said. After she was charged, Hanson was taken to Penobscot County Jail in Bangor. She was released on bail Tuesday morning, Mason said.

Hanson was driving 60 mph on a section of Route 9 where the posted speed limit is 40 mph, Mason said. After he pulled her over, Hanson said she did not have her license with her, but said her name was Lori Rosebush, whose name appeared on the vehicle’s registration and insurance documents.

When Mason ran Rosebush’s name through the county’s computer system, he learned that Rosebush was incarcerated in the county lockup at that moment. (Dawn Gagnon, BDN)
